Making a Difference Through Education and Technology

How It All Started

In 2018, my wife, Rafiatu Iddrisu Lee, and I moved from Kasoa in the Central Region to Kpone Bawaleshie in Greater Accra. On the same road as our house was Dream Seed Academy, a small independent school. The children’s voices as they came and went to school piqued my curiosity, leading me to visit the school. My experience in the UK as part of a community group that set up a Saturday school to support children’s educational development inspired me to engage further.

Upon meeting the school’s owners, Mr. & Mrs. Nortey, I saw their dedication to building something special for the community. I began contributing by conducting cultural talks during special events, teaching chess classes, and leading football training sessions. These efforts made me realize that I could make a positive impact on the children and the school.

What Drives Us

My motivation to assist Dream Seed Academy stemmed from the impression it made on me. The passion and commitment of Mr. & Mrs. Nortey to support their local community were evident. This inspired me to contribute in any way I could.

As a former semi-professional footballer, my love for the sport also became a catalyst for change. During my morning jogs, I encountered children playing football on a nearby field. When I asked if they’d like formal training and the chance to form a team, their enthusiasm was overwhelming. The next morning, they arrived at my gate, ready for training. This led to regular sessions and eventually the formation of a youth team.
